New Beginings - A note from the Editor

Over the years I've tried to find fun activities to do with our Homeschooling bunch.  Being boys, our kiddos are extremely reluctant to try new things that they think they might not be good at. To say broadening their horizons is not their strong suit is an understatement.  Be that as it may, it's my job as their teacher to help them do just that.  So, I've created this blog to help them do what they "think" they can't do.  Over this next school year, we will be posting our first ever School News Paper, aptly named ,  The Reluctant Writers Press.  We will be show casing the best of the boys writing in the form of newspaper articles.  They will include, movie reviews, sports articles, Poetry, Birth, marriage, and engagement announcements, Puzzles and games, surveys and much more!

In addition to broadening the boys horizons , this is stretching me as well.  I am not technically savvy, by any stretch of the imagination.  But I can not expect the boys to do what I am not willing to do myself.  Thus the new internet blog verses a traditional paper periodical.

I am sure this is going to be an adventure for all of us.  So without further ado, let me introduce you to the staff of "The Reluctant Writers Press".

This is Matthew our Junior this year.  He is our mischievous teen.  He loves a good joke and makes them often.  He keeps us in stitches most of the time.  His favorite pass times include radio dramas, video games and Star Trek!

Next comes our Freshman Teen:

Josh is our resident Tech genius and yes I do mean genius.  There is nothing that I know about technology that he doesn't know! Some of his pass times include singing, and archery.

Coming right along is our newest teenager:

Daniel is gifted in computer generated art.  He's won multiple awards for his art work over the years. Daniel enjoys art, of course, and he is quite the Star Trek Voyager series fan. Daniel is very good with children as well. They seem to drawn to him and he enjoys working with them.

Then there's Noah!

Noah is our 3rd grader.  Full of energy and quite a character.  He excels in sports and is a very outgoing kiddo. Though he doesn't enjoy writing he can come up with lots of wonderful stories.  I'm excited to get some of them down on paper....er..bytes????

Then there is our Principal:

Scan to the lower left of the picture and you will see our fearless leader.  Meet Tim aka Dad.  Love that man!  He is our  stabilizer.  He is the one who keeps us all on the straight and narrow.  We couldn't do this with out him.

Finally there's ...well...me!
I am our teacher and editor for this paper.  I enjoy, crocheting, reading and teaching my kiddos.

Well, there you have it.  The entire staff of "The Reluctant Writers Press".  We hope you enjoy the upcoming issues and welcome your feedback.
